A : NFIG scheme: This is a New Faculty Initiation (start-up) Grant of a maximum of Rs. 5 lakhs given by the Institute to enable new faculty members. The faculty member can send their application to the Dean, IC & SR, through the Head of the Department, using the given format: https://icsr.iitm.ac.in/nfig.php; NFSG Scheme: Under the New Faculty Seed Grant, the Institute provides funds for new faculty members to initiate long-term research in their area of specialization at IIT Madras. This funding could also help them get sponsored research grants later to continue and establish their research activities. This scheme is operated as a project under the Centre for IC&SR. Proposals for projects normally up to Rs. 25.00 lakhs will be recommended by the Dean, IC&SR, to the Director for approval, after a presentation is made by the proposer to a committee of experts.
